They can carry a ton of weight, deliver the fridge to you house that your wife has always wanted, and so much more. Although there are many benefits to semi trucks, they also make up 11% of deaths.
Today we wanted to share a three tips that truck drivers need to be aware of. You might have heard these tips thousands of times, but it only takes one time to cause an accident. Those who drive cars, these are also helpful tips that you can make sure to apply while driving, or make sure other truck drivers around you are doing the same!
Maintain your vehicle. Checking your brakes, tires, and signals is vital pre trip. After all, it wouldn't be fun to have to stop in the middle of your route.
Plan your trip in advance. There may be a route with construction, unsafe roads, etc. that would be easier to avoid than risk.
Check your blind spots. Truck drivers have more blind spots than the average car, so it’s best to check your blind spots every 8-10 seconds.
